Introduction:
Uganda is best known for its primates, and this slightly over a week itinerary offers a wonderful introduction. Begin with the playful chimpanzees and end with the unforgettable experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Along the way, enjoy a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and a relaxing boat ride along the Kazinga Channel.
Itinerary: –
DAY 01: Arrival in Entebbe – Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. If you wish to exchange currency, we recommend doing so at the airport for convenience. You will then be transferred to your hotel within the Entebbe area. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your journey.
Overnight: The Boma Hotel – Entebbe
Meals: None (arrival day).
DAY 02: Fly to Kibale Rainforest National Park
Early breakfast at your hotel and check-out. Thereafter, transferred back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Kasese Airstrip departing at 0700 hrs and arriving at 1005 hrs. On arrival, you will be met by your private safari guide and transferred to Kibale Rainforest National Park that takes approx. 2hrs. On arrival, check in and lunch. Rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 03: Kibale National Park for the Chimp trek and Swamp walk
After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking and guidelines for your time in the forest. You will then set out in search of the playful chimpanzees, along with other primates found in the area. After the trek, return to the base where your driver will be waiting and transfer back to the lodge for a
hot lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided swamp walk in the Bigodi area, known for its rich birdlife and primates. Return to the lodge in the evening to freshen up, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 04: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, check out and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, with the drive taking approximately 2.5 hours. Enjoy a scenic journey to Kasese Town, passing through fertile farmlands and the lower slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains, one of Africa’s largest mountain ranges. En route, pass through the small town of Hima, known for its cement industry. From Kasese, continue into Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the equator along the way, before arriving at your lodge. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 05: Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, set out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, Uganda Kobs, and other antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its hippos, large herds of buffalo, and abundant birdlife. Afterwards, return to the lodge to freshen up, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 06: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast at the lodge, check out and enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 5 hours to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, check in, and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 07: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve – 01st Gorilla trek
Depart early from the lodge to the trailhead in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your mountain gorilla trekking experience. After a briefing on gorilla behaviour, safety, and the family you will track, your adventure begins. The trek can be strenuous, lasting from 30 minutes to most of the day, depending on the gorillas’ location. Coming face-to-face with mountain gorillas—one of the world’s most endangered species—is a truly unforgettable wildlife encounter. You will observe them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact, from energetic youngsters to dominant silverbacks. Visits are limited to one hour to minimize disturbance, allowing ample time for photography and observation. After the trek, return to base and transfer back to your lodge

DAY 08: 2nd Gorilla Trekking and overnight in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will follow the same program as the previous day with a different gorilla family.

DAY 09: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart in your safari vehicle for a scenic drive of approximately five hours to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands with brief stops along the way. En route, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Mbarara before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and head out for a late afternoon game drive in this park known for the plain’s wildlife such as zebras, impalas, and elands, as well as its scenic landscapes of rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and lakes. It is also one of the few parks in Uganda where you can enjoy walking safaris, boat rides, and even cycling alongside wildlife, offering a more intimate safari experience.
Overnight: Kigambira Safari Lodge
Meals: All meals (Lunch / Dinner & Breakfast)
DAY 10: Drive back to Nairobi and outbound departure
Breakfast at the lodge, followed by check-out and drive to Entebbe International Airport. En route, stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for a memorable photo opportunity where you can stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time. Continue for lunch, then proceed to the airport, arriving in time to check in for your international flight.
